AUDITIONS FOR "DOG LOGIC"
JUNE 26-27 AT THE PLAYHOUSE
The Costa Mesa Playhouse is casting Thomas Strelich's play "Dog Logic," a dark dramedy with profound insights into the mind of a man unaffected by the obsession with wealth, acquisition or urban sprawl, confronted by his grasping mother, his tender yet desperate ex-wife and an unscrupulous real estate broker, all eager to acquire his land, a rundown pet cemetery. Originally produced by South Coast Repertory in 1988.
Sharyn Case, director; Mike Brown, producer. There will be a read-thru June 28. Regular rehearsals begin July 8, generally weekday evenings. There will be limited rehearsals Aug. 5-25, with regular rehearsals resuming Aug. 26. Performances run Sept. 13-Oct. 6, Fridays-Sundays, at the Costa Mesa Playhouse.

A musical revue of the songs of Jacques Brel, a Belgian cabaret singer-songwriter who composed and performed literate, thoughtful, and theatrical songs that generated a large, devoted following initially in post WWII France and later throughout the world, Jacques Brel is Alive and Well & Living in Paris debuted Off-Broadway in 1968, ran for more than four years and enjoyed phenomenal international success. Brel's insightful and poetic ballads, highly influential to American songwriters like Bob Dylan, spoke of life, death, love and human folly, with bold and often sexually direct lyrics, searing imagery and rhythmic ingenuity.
