Director's Note
As the daughter of a Pittsburgh and a Philadelphia native who has had the wonderful experience of traveling to and performing in almost every state, Lynn Nottage’s Pulitzer Prize-winning play is deeply personal to me. Blue Collar and Working Class Americans from urban, factory, immigrant, and farm communities are too often overlooked and dismissed by those of us with access to high-end education and financial and suburban privilege. In bringing this play to Orange County, I hope to humanize and make relevant the lived experience of our fellow Americans, from the triumphant to the tragic.
